I chose to write this piece for The Witmarsum because I recognized the amount of work Jessie puts in as a student and an athlete. I felt it was important to share her story since Bluffton is known for their dietetics program.
This feature really draws on Bluffton's core value of community. I found it fascinating how there were several people who left Bluffton and then came back. I think it really shows how special Bluffton is and how different it is compared to other schools.
Opinion
I felt this issue was something many people thought, but not something that ever truly got voiced. I felt like through writing this piece I was able to speak up for a lot of other students who would like to have the opportunity to live off campus.
As someone who has always been an overachiever, this article helped me through the process. It served as a reminder to take a break and not push myself too hard.

As a future intern for Shirley's, I was thrilled to have the chance to write a story about them for The Wit. I thought the opportunity to receive free popcorn from reading was something students, faculty and staff could enjoy.
As someone who has benefited from working off-campus, I felt this was important to share with fellow students. I believe having a job during college can really help students form time management skills.
